U.N.I.T.-M Agent Training Report

Trainer: Rachel E. Dewey

Subject: Gabrielle Thomas (Gabriel)

Date: September 31, 1990

The subject, Gabriel, was born on October 31 1965 to one Linda Thomas, at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Canada. The unusual circumstances preceding this birth appear to have been as follows.

On January 14 1962 Linda Thomas, aged 19, was struck by a drunk driver while returning from the grocery store. By some freak chance, although she was flung for several meters, she sustained only minor bruising. The driver ran into a lamppost and was killed. Despite her relatively minor injuries, Linda remained unconscious, though otherwise she functioned normally. She was placed in an extended care facility in the Jewish General Hospital. It is notable that none of her kin either stepped forwards nor could any be found.

This remained the state of affairs late in 1964, when it became apparent that she was pregnant. This despite the fact that there were no male attendants and there did not seem to be any others who had spent enough time in her presence to have impregnated her.

In due course she gave birth. There were no complications. The child, on the other hand, presented the Government and hospital staff with some problems. She had no known father, no known maternal relations and her mother would hardly be able to care for her. They could not, however, simply give her up for adoption, as Linda might wake at any time and could quite possibly want her child.

Because of these logistical difficulties Gabriel has spent most of her life in various institutions. Records seem to indicate that she was a highly introverted child, and prone to daydreaming. It seems to have been during this period that she became convinced that she was fathered by some kind of non-human intelligence, a "dream". This would appear to be an extension of a reasonable tendency to attempt to explore the identity of her father through daydreams.

Throughout school Gabriel was an indifferent student, passing everything but excelling at nothing. After attending five years of CEGEP without receiving even one diploma. She left and obtained a small business loan from which she began her " second hand" business called "Second-Hand Dreams".

She appears to have been using this business as a front for some kind of cult activity. It appears, however, to be highly successful. The amount of income that she receives is disproportionate with her lax work ethic and type of business. It seems likely that she is extorting money from her cult devotees.

Powers:

Gabriel has refused to reveal the nature of her powers, the following have been observed.

Notes:

Gabriel exhibits strong Megalomaniac tendencies. She also appears to have some distrust of physical human contact.

It has been noted that she seems to feel that the skills she is learning in training are vastly inferior to those she already possesses, because of this she has put little effort in to her studies. This attitude is typical, and will likely have a negative impact on her usefulness as an agent.

Gabriel does not work well in group situations except a leader. However her other "quirks" make her a poor choice for this roll, she will however have to be watched so that she does not assume leadership of the group on her own.

Gabriel’s reasons for joining UNIT M are unclear and suspect.

Recommendations:

Gabriel has firmly refused genetic testing. It would be in our best interests to conduct such tests covertly, at such a time as this becomes possible. There are three possible situations which suggest themselves:

  1. Gabriel may be genetically related to a member of the male staff at the facility where her mother resides.

  2. She She may not even be genetically related to Linda Thomas.

  3. Gabriel may possibly not be human

This supervisor feels that Gabriel is unlikely to make a functional and useful operative.

My recommendation is that she be dismissed, and kept under surveillance.
